If you are serious about fly fishing then the River Spey will need little introduction. At 106 miles in length it is the third longest river in Scotland. It is also its fastest flowing river too, starting its journey 350 metres above sea level in the Monadhliath Mountains and concluding it at Spey Bay, a shingle beach and river estuary a few miles north of Fochabers half-way along the Moray coast. In terms of scenery it doesnt gets more spectacular with fisheries available everywhere from Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey to Castle Grant and Gordon Castle.
The most productive area of the Spey is Strathspey and Middle Spey reaches like Craigellachie and Upper Arndilly just several minutes drive from our dedicated glamping site near the worlds Malt Whisky capital, Dufftown. This makes us ideally placed for trying out the famous Spey cast and finishing your days fishing with a dram of the finest malt distilled from the same waters. And were so close you can practically smell the water. The Trout and Salmon season starts in early March and runs strong until September.
Anglers come from all over the world to fish here, so it pays to book early. Our luxury pods can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children with single occupancy rates available at just £70.00 a night. A rare catch indeed for fly fishing holidays.
